Right after the Davis Cup meeting with Romania which was played on hardcourt, I traveled to the clay tournament of Casablanca. Normally, you would take a week off for practice when moving from one surface to another but after considering some pros and cons of playing the tournament right after the Davis Cup, I decided to go anyway. You probably already know that my first round match did not go as planned and therefore I was very disappointed. I knew that I was not going to be able to play my best tennis after only one hour of practice on clay, but that I would be playing that bad was a huge upset to me. In the end, I learned from the experience and realized some points and insights that I “forgot”. I know that this last statement must sound a bit vague to you, but some things are simply hard to explain. Despite the fact that my year did not start as well as I had hoped, it´s important for me now to keep on practicing, to train hard and apply the things I had forgotten.
